Once again, scammers are pretending to be me, sending texts and emails requesting that you contact me, do a favor for me, or purchase gift cards for me. I, nor any staff member, will not send such requests to parishioners. These may appear to be legitimate, but please disregard them and delete any such requests.
Annual Seminary Dinner
The 2024 Annual Seminary Dinner will be held Friday, October 4, 2024, at the Baird Center in downtown Milwaukee. In 2022 & 2023, we were blessed to have a sold-out ballroom of 2,000 people joining in the mission of the Seminary. We hope you will consider joining us this year! Save the date, October 4.
Eucharistic Revival Novena Prayer
Please recite daily until Monday, June 24, when the National Eucharistic Pilgrimage arrives at our parish.
God Our Father, please bless all who encounter the National Eucharistic Pilgrimage and bring revival in our Archdiocese, especially the revival of faith in your Son Jesus Christ and His Catholic Church.
Lord Jesus, please help us all to recognize you drawing close, truly present and here for us, in every Mass and in the Blessed Sacrament as the National Eucharistic Procession passes through our Archdiocese.
Holy Spirit, please draw us, form us, and send us in your love to those around us.
God, please give us the grace that everyone who encounters the National Eucharistic Pilgrimage will awaken faith, experience healing, and give witness. Amen.

Respect Life Committee “Popcorn for Pops”
The Respect Life Committee will have small bags of gourmet popcorn for sale on Father’s Day, June 16, after all Masses. Pro-Life Wisconsin is helping the Committee do something special for all dads on Father’s Day by supplying the 3-ounce popcorn bags in two flavors: white cheddar and caramel corn. The cost is $3 per bag or two bags for $5. The vendor supplying the popcorn is Badger Popcorn, and its reputation is second to none. So please support “Popcorn for Pops.”

A good father is an immeasurable gift and something our world is in need of today. Join us in praying for all fathers this Father's Day...
- For our dads on earth—that God protects and blesses them with the strength necessary to live their vocation and role as a father well
- For our dads who have passed from this life—that they are living in the presence of Jesus in heaven.
- For our priests, Bishop, and Pope—that Jesus blesses them with joy and courage to fully live out their vocation as spiritual fathers to their flock.
- For all those who play a fatherly role in our lives—that St. Joseph helps them to lead, instruct, and live as examples of holy men
Whether you have a beautiful or a broken relationship with your own dad (or any father figures in your life), you can always turn to God our Father and to St. Joseph, the head of the Holy Family, for comfort and guidance throughout your life.
If you're a father in any capacity, ask St. Joseph to guide you in your role. He was the foster father of Jesus Christ—he raised the Savior of the world! There's no better example of an earthly father than him!
The position of St. Joseph as husband and foster father gives witness to the dignity of fatherhood.
Narthex Bathroom Project
The bathroom construction project is underway and should last through the summer months into the Fall. Overall, there should not be too much disruption, but there will be some noise, so please be patient throughout the building process. We have ample parking spaces, so please do not park near the construction site, where the necessary machinery and building materials will be stored. Thank you for your cooperation.
For the first time in history, pilgrims are processing across the United States with the Blessed Sacrament on the way to the National Eucharistic Congress in Indianapolis in July. The northern ‘Marian’ route will cross the Archdiocese of Milwaukee June 18-26, 2024. Our parish has been selected to be a “Holy Pit Stop” on Monday, June 24 (around 9:45 am) as the procession makes its way from the Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish in St. Francis to our doorstep before proceeding to St. Mary Catholic Faith Community in Hales Corners (another 1.8 miles). At this time, the Archdiocese of Milwaukee is not providing transportation for that segment of the route. Participants will follow the route from our doorstep along Cold Spring Road, cross Layton Avenue to Forest Home Avenue on foot, and either continue with the procession to St. Alphonsus Parish in Greenfield or return to our parish on their own. You can register for segments of the “Milwaukee Marian Route,” obtain more information about the stops included on that route, or order official Eucharistic Revival merchandise by visiting www.archmil.org/evangelization/Eucharistic-Pilgrimage.htm. Follow the various prompts and active links on that page.
Lastly, please pray for the success and good spiritual fruit of both the National Eucharistic Pilgrimage and the National Eucharistic Congress. Our parish and parish members will be participating in those events in a variety of ways. One way everyone can participate is by praying the official “Eucharistic Revival Novena.” You can find it in Fr. Michael’s column. You may also visit this site for more daily prayers and video messages. Our school community was quite busy during the last ten days of school. A busy community is an awesome community, and we are awesome. Our students were recognized for their greatness on Awards Day.
The eighth graders went on a class trip to the House on the Rock and Cave of the Mounds; we had our candle Mass and received our school diplomas at the graduation celebration.
Our K4 and K5 students had an amazing summer send-off concert.
The first grade put on the best Peter Rabbit play at school this year.
Our second grade went to Clement Manor for an intergenerational planting day.
Our school picnic also included an afternoon of food, games, and competition. There were plenty of smiles and plenty of fun!
Remember, Jesus is the bread of life.
The Festival Committee is asking for donations for the Festival Fireworks. Your name or business will appear on the donor placemat that is used at our parish fish fry and chicken dinners, as well as the pancake and Holy Name breakfasts and any other special events. As a Firecracker Backer, you may choose to donate at any of the following levels:

We are still in need of items for various festival booths. Please bring items to the parish office.
- Mystery Package Booth: Items should be NEW and worth at least 50 cents for men, women, and children.
- Raffle Booth: Larger items such as electronics, appliances, lawn equipment, or any larger items that you think someone would be eager to buy a chance to win.
- Grocery Booth: A wide variety of non-perishable food items are needed.
- Gentlemen’s Chest: Unopened bottles of wine, whiskey, vodka, gin, and after-dinner cordials are needed
June 16 | The Eleventh Sunday in Ordinary Time
Friends, our Gospel for today features the parable of the mustard seed.
How does God tend to work? From the very small to the very great—and by a slow, gradual process. God tends to operate under the radar, on the edges of things, quietly, clandestinely, not drawing attention to himself.
C.S. Lewis speaks to this principle. How, he asks, did God enter history? Quietly, in a forgotten corner of the Roman Empire, sneaking behind enemy lines. How was European Christianity established? Through the handful of people who listened to St. Paul in Philippi and Athens. How did the mighty Franciscan movement come to be? One odd, mystical kid heard a voice coming from a crucifix: “Francis, rebuild my Church, which is falling into ruin.” A handful of followers joined him in his quixotic project, then dozens, then hundreds, then thousands.
So don’t be afraid to do small things at the prompting of God! Plant the seed, make the move, take the risk—take even the smallest step, and don’t worry about who notices or how much attention you’re getting. Sow the seed and leave the rest to the mercy and providence of God.
