Solemnity of the Body and Blood of Christ
This past Sunday, we concluded our celebration of the Body and Blood of Christ with a Eucharistic Procession around the property. About 100 parishioners were able to participate. We prayed for the Spiritual and Physical well-being of all of our parishioners as well as blessings on all our ministries and property. We look forward to having another Eucharistic procession next year.
This past Friday, the church celebrated the beautiful feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. It was a reminder of Jesus’ great love for each of us with His Sacrificial love through his Passion, Death, and Resurrection, all so that our sins may be forgiven and we may be one with God forever in the Kingdom of Heaven. Below is a Prayer of Consecration to the Sacred Heart:
Most sweet Jesus, Redeemer of the human race, look down upon us, humbly prostrate before You. We are Yours and Yours we wish to be; but to be more surely united with You, behold each one of us who freely consecrates himself today to Your Most Sacred Heart. Many, indeed, have never known You; many, too, despising Your precepts, have rejected You. Have mercy on them all, most merciful Jesus, and draw them to Your Sacred Heart. Be King, O Lord, not only of the faithful who have never forsaken You but also of the prodigal children who have abandoned You; grant that they may quickly return to their Father’s house, lest they die of wretchedness and hunger. Be King of those who are deceived by erroneous opinions or whom discord keeps aloof and call them back to the harbor of truth and unity of faith so that soon there may be but one flock and one Shepherd. Grant, O Lord, to Your Church assurance of freedom and immunity from harm; give tranquility of order to all nations; make the earth resound from pole to pole with one cry: Praise to the Divine Heart that wrought our salvation; to it be glory and honor forever. Amen.
Summer Projects
Throughout the last part of spring and early days of summer, a good number of maintenance projects are being completed. These are the projects that we spoke about as we were preparing for the Archdiocesan “LOVE ONE ANOTHER” campaign.
The new hand railings to many of our outdoor steps have been installed. Tuckpointing work is being done on all of the brick buildings. A new fire alarm system is being put in from one end of the building to the other. Also, carpeting is being replaced in the school/parish music room. A new sidewalk from the parking lot to the new playground area has been completed.
The flower gardens are blooming beautifully, thanks to the many parish volunteers.
Thank you for your generous gifts, particularly to the “LOVE ONE ANOTHER” Campaign that has allowed us to complete so many necessary projects.
